Hey there. I picked this project guitar up and lowered the action so it plays nice. I hoped to play blues with this thing, but need money too much. It's ready to play as is. Cosmetically you can fiput the top 5 frets back in if you want to, (the fret cuts are still there, just need to be deepened) or play it like it is, or just put the finish on the fret board and leave off the frets. This guitar sounds great. There are surface cracks on the top that don't effect the sound or playing at all, and are mostly hard to see. (This guitar holds its tuning for months).
